According to Taigang Group, the feasibility study on stainless steel pipe project by group’s design institute, which began in 2006, was now to be completed. The project includes a 6,000 tons steel extrusion machine and the supplementary facilities, which is the largest stainless steel seamless pipe production line in the world. Involving an investment of 800 million Yuan in total, the project has a design capacity of 50,000 tons per year of high and middle grade products. After a technology improving, now Taigang has a stainless steel capacity of 3.00 million tons per year, but the capacity of stainless steel pipe, which has a wide utilization, is limited, weakening the group’s competing ability.
To boost the pipe products production and the competing ability for stainless steel pipe, Taigang launched the largest stainless seamless pipe project in the world since April 2006. And Taigang design institute is alone responsible for the project feasibility study. The project involves a lot of fields, including equipment, pickling, industrial furnace, electric, automation equipment, communication, heating and so on.
