China's private solar power companies are leading innovative growth in the renewable energy sector, driven by the vast market potential and rapid technological advancements, said Yang Aiqing, executive president of JA Solar Technology Co Ltd.

Technological development, along with China's massive market potential, has been the dual force driving breakthroughs in the country's photovoltaic industry, she said.

China's ambition to achieve peak carbon emissions before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060 presents both a historic opportunity and a profound mission for private firms, she said.

The country's efforts to build a new power system with a gradual increase in the proportion of clean energy, the role of renewable energy will be further strengthened, opening more opportunities for private solar companies, she added.

Her comments followed a symposium in Beijing on Monday, where China's top leadership reaffirmed its commitment to boosting the private sector through supportive policies and boosting entrepreneurs' confidence.
