China's outbound direct investment continued to grow in the first four months of this year, especially in economies involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
From January to April, China's outbound direct investment reached $57.54 billion, up 7.5 percent year-on-year. The country's outbound non-financial direct investment reached $51.04 billion, up 5.6 percent year-on-year, data of the ministry showed.
In particular, China's non-financial direct investment in the countries and regions involved in the initiative reached $12.78 billion, up 16.4 percent on a yearly basis, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, during the four-month period, the turnover of China's foreign contracted projects reached $47.11 billion, up 6.8 percent year-on-year. The value of China's newly signed contracts in foreign countries reached $76.59 billion, growing 22.4 percent year-on-year.
The turnover of China's foreign contracted projects in the economies involved in the BRI reached $37.99 billion, up 5.2 percent year-on-year. The value of China's newly signed contracts in BRI economies reached $64.54 billion, climbing 17.4 percent year-on-year, the ministry said.
