According to statistics from the Ministry of Transport, in May 2026, port cargo throughput will reach 1.57 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0%. Of this, domestic trade throughput will decrease by 1.4% year-on-year, while foreign trade throughput will remain basically flat. Container throughput reached 31.3 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%. From January to May, port cargo throughput reached 7.51 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%, with domestic and foreign trade throughput increasing by 1.3% and 4.4% year-on-year, respectively. Container throughput reached 150 million TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.
